POSITION: Commercial Construction Project Manager

FUNCTION: We are seeking a dynamic, growth oriented individual to help the Elite Team family of companies achieve its growth forecasts. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of all types of commercial construction (Retail/Office, Multi-Family, Public Works, Medical and Educational) to manage complex projects and/or multiple projects, on which many activities occur simultaneously, and have better than average knowledge of the subcontractor trades.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All aspects of the entire construction project: manage all aspects of several projects running simultaneously
  • Consider overall business concerns of the company, in addition to those of an individual project, when making plans and decisions
  • Generate and manage project budgets, cost controls, and project related invoicing
  • Generation and maintenance of Critical Path Method scheduling using software such as P6, P3, or MS Project
  • Coordination of subcontractors, vendors, material suppliers, hired labor, inspectors, testing labs and others as required to fulfill the requirements of the schedule and project(s)
  • Supervise superintendents and/or foremen and assist them in their development of short-range operational plans
  • Monitor scheduled progress versus actual project performance and make schedule/budget adjustments when necessary to recover lost time or project costs
  • Generation of all cost proposals/time extension requests and the processing of all change orders and claims
  • Safety planning and ensuring that safe working conditions prevail at all times
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and inspections
  • Assure that the company Safety Policy and all applicable safety codes and requirements are adhered to constantly and consistently
  • Complete various insurance forms when necessary
  • Properly document all aspects of the work and establish and maintain appropriate document control
  • Timely submittal of all reports as required and/or requested
  • Apprise Business Manager/General Manager of all major problems encountered at the construction site in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 – 10 year project management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Construction Engineering preferred
  • Read, comprehend and interpret: plans, general and technical specifications, contracts and subcontracts, laws, codes and ordinances, and to possess the ability to enforce their intent
  • Draft presentations, conduct meetings, and otherwise competently represent the company at outside business functions
  • Effectively communicate the company and project goals to others
  • Prepare well written correspondence, proposals, claims and reports without assistance from others.

The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of all types of commercial construction (Retail/Office, Multi-Family, Public Works, Medical and Educational) to supervise complex projects and/or multiple projects, on which many activities occur simultaneously.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule and coordinate onsite activities for the construction project
  • Thorough knowledge of project plans and specifications to assure timely completion of the project while attaining a quality of work consistent with the contract documents and company policy
  • Apprise all new jobsite personnel of company policies, safety practices and requirements, working hours, Contraband Control Program, etc.
  • Monitor jobsite personnel’s adherence to established policies, practices, and procedures
  • Coordination of subcontractors, vendors, material suppliers, inspectors, testing labs and others as required to fulfill the requirements of the schedule
  • Assist in the draft of project administration and professional correspondence
  • Maintain an awareness of subcontractors and/or suppliers ability to perform and meet contract requirements
  • Take corrective action when needed by written notice – non-conformance, correction notice, deviation, etc.
  • Staff all trades under direct employ; supervise foremen and assist them in their development of short-range operational plans
  • Evaluate effectiveness of each operation for quality and productivity and initiate positive action to correct substandard quality and/or productivity by way of written notice
  • Responsible for continuous safe working conditions; conduct weekly safety meetings, all necessary inspections, and ensure all applicable safety codes and requirements are adhered to constantly and consistently
  • Responsible to maintain an adequate level of jobsite security
  • Responsible to properly document all aspects of the work on a daily basis via Daily Report; prepare written correspondence to protect the company’s interest in both proactive and defensive manners

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 – 5 year project supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Construction Engineering preferred
  • Read, comprehend and interpret: plans, general and technical specifications, contracts and subcontracts, laws, codes and ordinances, and to possess the ability to enforce their intent
  • Effectively communicate the company and project goals to others
  • Prepare well written correspondence with minimal assistance from others.

POSITION: Landscape Maintenance Division Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage multiple maintenance and service projects and their budget/s
  • Manage all costs, labor, procurement, and equipment expenditures for each project
  • Enforce all company policies and OSHA safety standards at job sites; conduct periodic safety meetings and inspections
  • Understand and meet customer expectations

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-3 years of project management or project administration experience
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft suite

Elite Maintenance & Tree Service is looking for driven and motivated team members in the Bakersfield area.

POSITION: Associate Account Manager

FUNCTION: The associate account manager will serve as the primary contact for EMTS clients. They will build and sustain long-term relationships while focusing on both client retention and ancillary sales.  The associate account manager will work with clients within the Senior Account Manager’s portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule to perform “site walk-through’s” during formal meetings with customers to ensure quality and service expectations are met.
  • Lead and facilitate or assist in the resolution of customer problems or concerns.
  • Proactively present site enhancement ideas to existing customers.
  • Ensure renewals of each assigned account within the customer portfolio.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to sell ancillary services.
  • Generate referrals from existing client base and communicate to Business Developer.
  • Develop accurate estimates and takeoffs for both new and existing clients as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with Production Manager to ensure client needs and expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Manage service delivery to specified scope of work.
  • Ensure branch financial goals met by maintaining acceptable gross margins for both base contract work and ancillary services.
  • Coordinate consistent and timely site visits with Production Manager.
  • Participate in branch meetings and assist Senior Account Manager in overall leadership of Client Service Team.
  • Maintain satisfactory Accounts Receivable levels.
  • Coordinate with Branch Administrator to ensure branch databases consistently updated with current client information.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by Branch Leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 0-1 years of supervisory experience in the landscape or service industry.
  • Must be able to travel

POSITION: Heavy Equipment Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Move earth, construction, and additional materials on construction site
  • Clear and grade land and roadways
  • Spread asphalt
  • Implement daily maintenance and inspection of equipment
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1 -2 years of experience operating excavators, backhoes, skid steers, wheel loaders, pavers and other similar equipment experience
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Experience in construction, with union relations
  • Pass a background check, pre-employment exam, and a non-DOT drug screen
